  Trails of New Bedford Program Presented by The Trustees & New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches FREE Public Programs | 2025 Season We’re bringing nature closer to home! Join us for free, family-friendly programs designed to help children and families explore, play, and learn in the great outdoors. Trails of New Bedford Once-Monthly Outdoor Adventures What it is: A guided outdoor experience at select NBPRB and Trustees properties. Who it’s for: Children & families of all ages. What’s included: Free round-trip transportation, guided exploration, and fun hands-on activities. Goal: Break down barriers to access and connect families with the incredible parks and trails right here in our community. Nature Play & Learn Weekly Indoor/Outdoor Learning Sessions Location: Ricketson Nature Center, Brooklawn Park What it is: Free hands-on nature play and learning, indoors and outdoors. Who it’s for: Youth and families who want to explore, create, and connect with the natural world. Goal: Encourage exploration, creativity, and curiosity through fun, guided activities in nature. How to Register Choose Trails of New Bedford (monthly trips), Nature Play & Learn (weekly sessions), or sign up for both! Programs are FREE, but space is limited. Registration is required for transportation and participation. This is a class for those who are brand new to speaking or fairly new. This class teaches by using our Wôpanâak Language to talk about a variety of topics.      Join New Bedford Parks & Recreation and Mass Audubon’s Youth Climate Leadership Program monthly climate game nights at the Ricketson Nature Center in New Bedford! Youth ages 13-19 are invited to drop in anytime between 6-8pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Our first two games will be Carbon City Zero and Ecologies.   Free snacks provided!
