February 17–20, 2026 During February Vacation, New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches is offering three great programs in one week. Families must register separately for each offering during February break, please note the times, dates and age/grade restrictions vary with each activity — please read carefully to be sure you are registering for the correct activities.February Staycation (3rd–8th grade)

N.B. Residents: $50
Non-Residents: $100
Looking for a safe, fun, and engaging place for your child during February school vacation? Our February Staycation Program provides affordable care for working families while keeping kids active, creative, and connect!ed with a mix of sports, arts & crafts, STEAM activities, and daily trips to the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center. Morning snack and afternoon Lunch included
Note: Children enrolled in the February Staycation may be eligible to participate in Model Boat Building and/or Safe@Home if they meet the age requirements. These programs are not included with Staycation registration and require separate registration. Space is limited and participation is based on availability.
Model Boat Building (5rd–8th grade) FREE PROGRAM Date: Tuesday Feb. 17th - Friday Feb. 20th Time: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM Location: Andrea McCoy Recreation Center, 181 Hillman St. A free, hands-on program, where students will work with tools to build their own model boat to take home at the end of the program. This class is led in partnership with Community Boating.
Safe@Home by Safesitter (4th–8th grade) FREE PROGRAM Date: Wednesday Feb.18th & Thursday Feb. 19th Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM Location: Andrea McCoy Recreation Center, 181 Hillman st A two-hour safety class taught by New Bedford Public Health nurses for children ages 9–12. Participants will learn how to stay safe when they are home alone.
