Summer Food Service Program Grab and Go Will Continue Through September 9, 2020

New Bedford, Massachusetts- New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches will continue the free Grab and Go meal service for youth ages 18 and under through the Summer Food Service Program from June 22 through September 9, 2020.

The department will distribute enough breakfasts and lunches for two to three days at a time. These meals will need to be refrigerated or frozen at home and will not be eaten on site.

Meals will be served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the following locations and times:

North Route Serving Times
12:30-1:15 p.m. Lincoln
2:00-2:45 p.m. Campbell

West Route Serving Times
11:00-11:45 a.m. Keith
12:30-1:15 p.m. Carney
2:00-2:45 p.m. Hay-Mac

South Route Serving Times
12:30-1:15 p.m. Roosevelt
2:00-2:45 p.m. Gomes

Parents are encouraged to pick up meals without their children present to promote social distancing efforts. Anyone who will be picking up meals will need to keep six feet of distance between all others and wear a mask or face covering.

New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches will not have the usual Play in the Park activities due to current COVID-19 safety measures, but will be offering virtual programming through the department website and social media. Take home kits with at-home family activities and fun items will be distributed at meals sites periodically throughout the summer while supplies last.
