Program:
Ages 5 - 7
The baskets will be lowered to eight feet. Every player will have a basketball. You will be placed in small groups of six or less. They will learn basic skills, dribbling, shooting, layups and passing. There will be one-one, two-on-two and three- on-three games the last 15-20 minutes. They will learn teamwork and the rules. It is an introduction to basketball. The goal is for young people to learn basketball skills, have fun and hopefully continue to play basketball.
Ages 8 - 10
The baskets will be at 10 feet. Every player will have a basketball. You will be placed in a small group of six or less. You will learn basic skills, dribbling, shooting, layups and passing. There will be one-on-one, two-on two and three-on three games. The emphasis will be on learning to play correctly, no traveling or double dribble will be allowed. They will understand the rules. The goal is for young people to learn basketball skills, rules, have fun and continue to play basketball.
